Test the Change, Not the Entire Universe

A focused investigation inside your AI coding agent.

You changed sign-in. You did not ask for a company-wide quality audit.

This sounds obvious until a testing agent spends its time investigating the homepage while the new password-reset flow remains untouched. More activity is not necessarily more useful testing.

/carbon-test gives CARBON a specific target: a feature, journey, API, component, or behavior. You can name the quality concern too. “Checkout accessibility” is a different assignment from “checkout pricing.”

Follow the behavior across its boundary

Focused does not mean superficial. A password-reset change may involve an email link, an expired token, two browser tabs, and the account's existing sessions. Those are relevant neighbors of the behavior, not an excuse to test everything.

CARBON uses the available requirements, code, validation rules, and current interfaces to select cases. It can combine live interaction with source inspection, then preserve which conclusions came from which evidence. If you ask about a screenshot alone, it cannot claim the reset link actually worked.

The result is a scoped report: what was attempted, what happened, what needs fixing, and what remains outside the investigation. That boundary is useful. It tells the next person what they can rely on.

Give the command a real assignment

/carbon-test password reset; check expired links, repeated use, and keyboard recovery; use synthetic accounts and ask before sending email

The practical advantage is the short path from a change to relevant evidence. You do not need a fresh testing project every time a small feature moves. You need a clear question and an investigation that stays with it.

Small scope. Serious testing.
